Hero (n.) – a person who is admired for great or brave acts; a person who is greatly admired; one who shows great courage. See below:
My hero is my brother Mike. He proudly served our country, he’s been through several deployments, he’s been away from family for long periods of time. Mike is someone who goes above and beyond for others. He’s someone who shows courage every single day. He’s been through a lot but he continues to carry on. I think that’s incredibly brave. I wanted to take the time out to honor him today. I feel all of our military, past & present, deserve to be honored all the time. To be celebrated for all that they do for this country. These brave men and woman are America’s true heroes. I know Memorial Day is about honoring those who lost their lives serving our country. Without a doubt I will do just that today, but I just wanted to tell ya little bit about my brother. Thank you for your service, Mike and thank you for being a wonderful big brother and for continuing to be someone I look up to.
Don’t forget to take some time out of your picnics/celebrations to remember those who have sacrificed this Memorial Day. “All gave some. Some gave all.”
As always, thank you for taking the time to read. Be kind to yourself.
